When is the Best Time to Visit the Caribbean?

In our book, it is always a good time to visit the Caribbean! If you are dreaming of turquoise waters, soft white sands and a rum punch here's our quick guide about the best time to visit.   Choosing the right time to visit will make a big difference to your experience – and your budget!

Peak Season: December to April

The most popular time to visit the Caribbean is during the dry season, from mid-December through to April. This is when you’ll find glorious sunshine, little rain, and cooling sea breezes – perfect for beach days and exploring island life. Christmas, New Year, and Easter are especially popular, with travellers seeking winter sun or a school holiday escape.

Be warned though, with peak season comes peak prices – flights and accommodation are at their highest, and early booking is a must. If you’re after better value…

Consider the Shoulder Seasons

May to early July and late October to early December are often overlooked, but these 'shoulder seasons' offer a sweet spot. The weather is still warm and inviting, and you’ll find fewer crowds and lower prices. Yes, you might get a tropical shower – but these are usually short, refreshing bursts followed by blazing sunshine. You’ll be back on your sun lounger before you know it!

Hurricane Season: June to November

Officially, hurricane season runs from June to November, but the risk is generally highest between August and October. That said, hurricanes are relatively rare – and thanks to advanced forecasting, you’ll have plenty of notice if one is on the way.

If you're concerned, consider heading to islands outside the main hurricane belt – Barbados, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao are all great options with minimal risk.

High Summer: Hot & Humid

From July to September, the Caribbean turns up the heat – literally. Expect high temperatures and humidity, particularly inland. However, many islands benefit from coastal breezes, especially Antigua, St Kitts, and the British Virgin Islands, helping to keep things comfortable.

So, when's the best time to go? It depends on your priorities – weather, budget, school holidays.

We're here to help you find the perfect time (and island!) to suit your plans. Whether you want peak season sparkle or off-peak value, we’ve got you covered. Get in touch - your Caribbean paradise awaits!
